Historique :	Pierre de Becdelièvre (1639-1726), marquis d'Hocqueville et de Cany fonde l'hôpital en 1692. Pierre de Becdelièvre a épousé Anne-Françoise Le Boultz décédée le 30 novembre 1720. L'abbé Cochet indique : "Il le constitua l'héritier de la maladrerie de Saint-Jacques (existant dès le 13e siècle à Grainville) dont le roi Louis XIV lui donna les biens par arrêt du conseil du 24 novembre 1695. Reçu aussi toutes les léproseries des environs. En 1700 le fondateur fait commencer la construction des bâtiments et de la chapelle. Fit venir des religieux de l'ordre de Saint-Jean-de-Dieu qui y restent jusqu'à la Révolution."
