Historique :	Les historiens de la table de marbre, qui est célèbre pour avoir vu plaider Pierre Corneille, et qui se trouvait au fond de la salle des procureurs, sont Charles de Beaurepaire et Georges Dubosc. Charles Beaurepaire a fait l'histoire, tant de l'institution que de la table elle-même, ancienne tombe cédée par le chapitre de Rouen en 1508. Georges Dubosc a fait aussi une brève mais bonne histoire de la juridiction et du monument, en précisant le rôle de Pierre Corneille et donnant une description de la plaque inaugurée en 1906. Il existe aussi un rapport de la commission des antiquités sur le rétablissement de la table de marbre.
