Description :	Le roi, jeune, est assis sur un trône à baldaquin, entre deux guerriers, armés d'une lance. Devant lui, les deux mères, l'une en jaune, agenouillée, l'autre en rouge debout, se disputent l'enfant que le bourreau au torse nu tient par une jambe et sur lequel il lève le couteau. Derrière la femme en rouge, l'excitant, se tient une vieille femme. A terre est le cadavre de l'autre enfant, que flaire un chien. Fond de paysage avec bassin à jet d'eau. Tableau usé, ayant souffert, sans doute d'un devernissage brutal.
