Morts du 71e Génie France 1944 - 1945 Indochine 1945-1954 |
Le 71ème Régiment du Génie débarque à Cavalaire en Aout 1944, participe à la campagne de France, puis sert en Indochine et Algérie. Son drapeau est décoré des croix de guerre 39-45 et TOE.evec palmes et port de la fourragère TOE.
En 1967, il prend garnison en Normandie pour oeuvrer de part le monde pour la Paix : Cambodge, Liban, Centre-Afrique, Angola, Ex-Yougoslavie.
Oissel est sa ville de garnison depuis 1973.
Le 71ème Génie rend son drapeau le 25 avril 1997.
22 000 appelés normands y ont servi.
Inauguré par M. Thierry Foucaud, Maire de Oissel et le Colonel Vernoux, dernier Chef de Corps du 71e.
