Description architecturale :

Église de plan allongé.
Une nef qui se termine par un chevet plat.
L'entrée est marquée par un porche occidental.
Le clocher et son toit pyramidal émerge peu après le pignon de la façade occidentale.
Les murs sont en silex, pierre blanche et briques.

Étapes de construction :

La première église du village a été édifiée au XIIe siècle (restes de fondations de chaque côté de l’église actuelle). L’édifice actuel date du XIIIe siècle. Partiellement détruit par un incendie en 1769, il fut reconstruit durant le XVIIIe siècle.

Histoire :

Nous savons que Croixdalle fut l’un des premiers villages de la région converti au christianisme. Les habitants de Croixdalle offrirent leur cloche à la république en 1793. Regrettant de ne plus l’avoir pour donner le signal de leurs réunions, ils en « empruntent » une à la paroisse de Sainte-Agathe d'Aliermont qui avait gardé les deux siennes. Cette cloche fondue en 1646 a été cassée en 1875. Refondue par la suite, elle pèse 875 livres. Elle a été bénie le 18 juillet 1876, au milieu d’une grande afluence d'assitants, et s’appelle Augustine Françoise.Le cimetière entourait l’église jusqu'en 1878. Devenu trop exigu, il fut transféré à son emplacement actuel.
