l'association a pour but de surveiller la propreté et les soins, de venir en aide et de protéger les animaux maltraités, d'envoyer des inspecteurs, enquêteurs ou délégués chez les particuliers, dans les chenils, les chatteries, les cirques, les fermes, pensions pour chiens, chats, élevages, revendeurs et sur la voie publique ; les propriétaires d'animaux pourront avoir une recommandation verbale, écrite ou un dépôt de plainte pour maltraitance ou autre (insultes, injures, etc) ; pour aider au bon fonctionnement de l'A D P A et faire rentrer des fonds, les actions sont les suivantes : réaliser et organiser des manifestations en tous genres, développer la communication des chenils, chatteries et maisons d'accueil, etc ; défendre les intérêts moraux, matériels et financiers (droits et devoirs) auprès des élus, des pouvoirs publics, des commissions et autres autorités
